About Dan and Russell
We first teamed up in 2005 as photo editors in the fast-paced newsroom of the San Francisco Chronicle. We started Dan & Russell Photography to use our expertise to make memorable photographs for couples and families.
We consider it a privilege to be a part of your wedding. We work to build rapport with our clients, so that on the day of your wedding you are relaxed around the cameras. As photojournalists we are trained to capture those unscripted moments that tell the story of your wedding, and the details that make it unique.
We also specialize in engagement and family portraits with the San Francisco Bay Area as our backdrop. We have helped many couples and families celebrate milestones in their lives through photography. We work with you to pick a location with personal meaning, and create portraits that show your personalities.
I am a photo editor/photographer at The Chronicle. When I’m not editing photos, I can be found shooting fashion in the studio or on-location. I’ve been a photojournalist for more than 30 years and have won numerous awards for photography and editing. I live in San Francisco with my wife and son.
I am an editor at ESPN.com and I spend my days reading stories about college football, the NFL, the NBA and Major League Baseball. I started shooting in 1997 and I have worked as an editor for Agence France-Presse, The San Francisco Chronicle and The Washington Post. On my off days, I chase my kids around the house and throughout the East bay.
